Serves 2 people

Ingredients

  • 1/2 TBL Lemon Juice
  • 1 TSP of  Farm and Florist Honey
  • 8oz of fresh brussel sprouts
  • 12 CUPS water
  • 2 TBL butter
  • 14 CUP coarsely chopped walnuts

Tips and Techniques

  • Do not over char in the broiling phase. Keep an eye out as they will crisp up very quickly.

Cooking

  1. Cook sprouts in boiling water to desired tenderness.
  2. Drain sprouts.
  3. While sprouts are resting comfortably in a colander, melt butter with honey in a saucepan.
  4. Stir in walnuts.
  5. Put sprouts in broil for 3 minutes to crisp up.
  6. Return sprouts to pan and stir to coat with sauce.
  7. Put sprouts back into oven under broil for 4 minutes until charred.
  8. Salt to taste and serve.

Tasting

The brussel sprouts should be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a kick of sweet and savoury flavours.
